What is the order? eating or buying?

We all stayed distant from one another in the shop -- at least, I stayed the requisite 6. I went shopping after going on a run, and even on the run was perturbed if a group of people decided to take up the width of the lane. How ungenerous of me. Those behind me in the checkout aisle wore black gloves and the grocery clerk had blue ones. I had none, just a disinfectant wipe I'd grabbed at entry.

I hadn't expected to buy more; I thought I had enough but finally ran out of the bay-leaves D wrapped in twine last August and find bay leaves (fresh ones, the scent is so nice) necessary when boiling water for beans or soup.

I bought:
bay leaves
beets (3, loose, two yellow, one red)
a tin of white beans in tomato-sauce
a tin of dolmas in oil
two carrots
celery
dish soap
a bottle of wine (had a conversation with a fellow shopper about what to get and whether any would be good and whether one should drink alone)
dark chocolate
provolone (aged)
strawberry jam
maple syrup (dark grade A, used to be grade B)
one avocado (hard)
*this shopping was mostly to get a bay leaf and carrot for making split-pea-soup*
I noticed they were mostly out of bread and the canned tomatoes had been swept clean, but you could still get quinoa or corn for popping, or dates, or dried figs, or much fresh produce, like blueberries or blackberries or zucchini.

Breakfast:
meusli and yogurt and honey
Lunch:
lentils, avocado, green beans (all cold)
Dinner:
split pea soup, wine

I bought:
Echinacea capsules
Tumeric tablets
(they were out of wellness pills, not just in-store but everywhere, and out of rubbing alcohol too)
Multivitamins
3 lemons
I glanced at the dry-goods, but a man wearing a medical mask was getting oatmeal, and I walked past.

I bought:
A bag of onions
A bag of potatoes
Arugula
A loaf of bread (to freeze)
Plain yogurt, expiration late April
A can of crushed roma tomatoes
2 cans of coconut milk
2 avocados
Vegetable broth
(there weren't any chickpeas left, canned or dried, nor any rice)

I bought:
2 bags of frozen peas
dish soap
cheese
2 packages of water-crackers
2 packages of unsalted butter
radishes
an onion
a bag of pasta
a bag of walnuts
a bag of almonds
a bag of honey-sesame almonds
a bag of tortilla chips
cookies

I bought:
a bag of pasta
toilet paper
cheese
dandelion tea
eggs
witch hazel
body lotion
The man who entered the store before me took a wipe to disinfect the handles of his grocery-basket and carried the wipe with him while he shopped; when he left the check-out aisle, he asked that the grocery clerk keep the receipt so that it might not pass from her hand to his, but she had touched the groceries and the bag, and I wondered what his solution might be. I commented that it was an odd time. I had copied the man, taking a wipe to wipe down my basket, and I took another when I left the store to disinfect my car - the door-handle, steering wheel, knobs.

I bought:
4 bottles of wine
Two slices of pizza

I bought:
A cookie
Yogurt
A half-loaf of bread
A salad
Arugola
Radishes
Carrots
Red flowers for my grandmother
(they thought she had pneumonia but it wasn't)
