12pm Tire change

[March 5th a little before 1:
flat tire
when the man from AAA came, I laid my book down in the passenger seat;
having helped him with the tire (I was so programmatic he thought I might play chess) my hands blackened;
he sprayed them and his own with stuff from Target that he funnels into a spray bottle: smells nice and moisturizes he said]

While waiting, sitting in the area they'd designated, putting chairs into a square with a TV above and a table with a few magazines, I read: "produced by the ego, anxiety is a function of the reality principal as the ego defends itself against external threat" (picasso papers) and noticed the linoleum floor: black squares flecked white, white squares flecked black. A woman wearing driving shoes came in and sat down and looked through the magazines. She turned the TV on, then, after a while, turned the volume down, watched and waited.
